Continuing On With My 'Training' Scenario
Trying To Improve My Solo RPG Gaming
Practice makes perfect they say, well here's even more of me mumbling, rambling and making mistakes in the hope that I *eventually* get a bit better at doing this sort of solo role playing! 😐
I decided to continue this practise adventure - which I have called 'The Mystery of Bear Cave' - because - frankly - I enjoyed the first session so much, but also because I wanted to see if I could successfully string two scenes together.
As it turned out it IS actually harder(for me anyway) to continue to maintain a continuous narrative, for some reason. Maybe it was because I found it easier to be creative and knock of a single sceen without worrying about having to make that scene make sense in context on an on-going storyline?
In any case, I struggled more trying to make this second scene make sense bearing in mind what I had generated before in the first scene while at the same time evolving the story 'on the fly' with each new roll of the dice or draw of a game card!
You really have to be quick at being a creative story teller (which I am not, as you will see when you watch the accompanying video)!
Despite this session being a bit of a dog's breakfast I did still enjoy the way the mystery was revealing itself - so it was more fun for me that it was probably for YOU. 😂
In any case, this is a learning experience and I can't expect to be good at it the very first time out - mistakes WILL be made. But I will stick with it, persevere and hopefully Part 3 will be better?
