Solid Start To 2026 With A Variety Of Projects

Lots On, But What Will Finnish First For This New Year?

I have plenty going on - with a large cue of other projects waiting in the wings - but as yet I haven't cracked that firt finish project for this year. What will win the race??? 😃

Projects Actually ON The Bench ATVM:-

  • Gaslands Car No. 4 (Hotwheels 64 Chevy Conversion)
  • 1/72 scale Vultee Vengance aircraft model
  • 3D printed blaster prop from Bladerunner

So this is what I am focusing on this week and I am hoping that one of these pops my model making cherry for '26! .....Isn't it weird to think of the year as '26, a hundred years ago we were in the midst of the 'Roaring Twenties'! (I digress.) 😏

The Gaslands car was supposed to be a very quickly put together 'test model' so that I could try out a slightly subdued style of rusty apocalyptic vehicle (going easy on the rust this time). But as usual I have gotten carried away - I could have just stripped a Hotwheels car and started painting without the bells and whistles, but I cant resist modding the cars!!!

Thus far I have installed the interior detail and driver (not a big job and it will be mostly hidden so I haven't spent much time on that) and got the armour on the car body AND attached a weapon...

So, I estimate this is about 40% of the way towards being finished (maybe).

The Vengance is another 'test' model, this time this kit is a guineapig for my newly acquired airbrush. I needed something to try out some spraying and this very simple kit should make for a nice canvas to try out the airbrush effects. I won't be too disheartened if I make a bit of a dogs dinner of this one (it was only a cheap kit)...

And finally a BIG one... Yet again a bit of an experiment because this is the first major project off my brand new 3D printer - the FLASHFORGE ADVENRURER 5M PRO....

Above: Birthday present from my wifey! She is a good egg!

I didn't go too made and this STL file 'kit' of 'Deckard's Blaster' from the movie BLADERUNNER, which I downloaded from CULTS.COM doesn't have that many parts and nor are any of them very complicated.

This is mainly and exercise in 3D model finishing - sanding and painting - effects and a chance to try out a new type of 3D filament (wood particle PLA).

I also want to try out making a SHADOW BOX as a means to display the 3D printed props that I make. Basically this is a picture frame which is given a deeped back (box) so that you can arrange a display of items inside. A sort of 'still life' under a frame.

So, busy busy this week. Lets see if I can start this year with a big burst of activity! (....And try and keep it up!) 😐
