Corrupted File

Even these days not everything goes the way I want sometimes!

More Haste; Less Speed

A big issue I have is the disorganised situation I have regarding my hobby and craft workspace. To be fair, a lot of this is my fault because years of hoarding and desperate hobby fads have resulted in horrific clutter which made what space I have cramped and messy. 😬

I can literally - as happened yesterday - put a tool or part down on my cramped workbench right in front of me one minute only to be unable to find that item again the very next. It's that bad.

This has had a huge affect on my production rate and my ability to produce projects to the best of my ability (such as that is).

But It Get's Worse!

Moaning about work space clutter is one thing, but unexpected random acts of incompetence are another thing, and that's exactly what took place two says ago. 😖

Long story short: I am trying my best to achieve ' a video release every week' - but in reality this usually turns out to be every one-and-a-half weeks to two weeks. But I'm trying. With the restricted time I have to myself I have a window of opportunity of two days a week that I have to myself, so - foreshadowing here - I have started to rush on those days so I get everything done... Oh, oh!

Yep, the predictable happened and my panicky clock-watching ('must get things done before the wife gets home') performance caused me to cock-up my video production and transfer process and as a consequence I ended up with a large portion of that days footage corrupted! 😡

Ah, Well...C'est la Vie (Not Really)!

No, I was not philosophical about this. In fact, I was a in a right huff which took me a whole day to break out of. Luckily, my lovely daughter had a day off work and came round to take me out for a walk and at the end of the day I had calmed down a lot.

AND SO... We come to this post. And all this is, really, is an excuse for me to post up some of the fragments of footage that I managed to salvage for the whole debacle. Various bits and pieces of what I have been working on to give you a hint at what might have made a couple of interesting complete videos.

Above: Another small clip I managed to salvage from the previous day's
catastrophe. Typically, all the video files I managed to recover were of my
secondary projects, none of my main project footage was as lucky!

Unfortunately, the main video - of my making a nice little N Gauge building - was totally lost. But, I do have some short side project clips which I was able to cobble together. (I tend to have several projects on the go at the same time so that when I have to wait for one to dry or I need a break I can move onto another.)

So, in conclusion, I hope you get some enjoyment out of these rag-tag remnants of footage and hopefully I will be more organised next week.... Hopefully!

In the end, I did calm down and decided to edit some of my surviving 'B Roll' into a little clip (above) which showed some of my work on making the tiny 1/6th scale controls for my AKAI tape deck model. Probably of no interest to anyone but me but better than just binning the remaining clips!

Ah well...
