Man-Cave Roof Replacement

A bit surprised how fast the attic roof replacement is going!

After the fiasco of what it is these days just trying to get a tradesman (they should never have stopped doing City & Guilds in favour of getting kids into a degree rant) when we did get one they have really tore into the work!

Egged on by endless mugs of tea they had the old roof off and are well onto getting the new one up in double quick time. They ended for the weekend by even getting one of the three new window in. We are dead chuffed.

man-cave. Should make for a nice bright studio.

For me and my gaming this is going to make a huge difference as the main issue with having you computer room in an attic is the heat in the summer - and the problems that causes with a PC - and the dampness of an uninsulated roof in the winter months. Plus, the roof had started leaking, which was another concern.

Anyway, this is all on it's way to being rectified and I can't wait to open all three windows to see how the attic - and the rest of the house - benefits from the increased air flow.

The windows are standard Velux type so you can get off the shelf clip-on black out blinds to ft them. This will be great as I like to play in black-out conditions and the old single window used to let chinks of sunlight in which invariably caused annoying reflections on my screen. (I had to resort to taping over any gaps to block out the light, only for new chinks to appear.)

Looking forward to seeing how the builders get on on Monday but I'm guessing that the exterior work will be done this week!
