Tiny Tina's Wonderland (PC)

Mid-week family gaming session fun!

Tiny Tina's Wonderland

Stacey and I have long been big fans of the Borderlands series of shooters and we liked the idea of the latest game which has taken a tongue-in-cheek swipe at the whole Dungeons and Dragons fantasy genre. Instead of a kinda post-apocalyptic sci-fi theme Tiny Tina's has exchanged 'a bazzillion guns' and Max Max-esque vehicles for dice and melee weapons (er, in theory).

We did wonder how this would work, I had already been quite impressed with the 'Vermintide' games and thought TTW would be something like that... But no, it was a swiz! Guns are still there, in fact, the deeper into the game you get the more like this is Borderlands in cosplay outfits.

But, hey, we still like it!

Still fun, But Wearing Thin

In my opinion, this must be the last of the Borderlands games, it's kinda getting like the Fast & Furious movie franchise now, stretching the plot (what plot?) paper thin just to give the fans more of the same.

Even the huge amount of varied guns is getting a little tired and each appears to be much of a muchness and you never feel really attached to one type over another. You just constantly exchange weapons to get a more powerful one...

I would much prefer having far less weapons but with the ability to upgrade the one you have by earning or buying mods for it. That was you can get attached to a particular type.

But, in the end, as much as Stacey and I like the hectic fire-fights and the amusing bosses I think we both feel that Tiny Tina's is the last roll of the dice for this franchise, at least for us.

We are both thinking of trying something with a bit more realism to it the next time, I've suggested 'The Division' as Stacey hasn't played this and Stacey wants us to have a go at 'Red Dead 2: Online' as she has just completed the single player game on the console.

So these last few sessions on Tiny Tina's Wonderland may be our goodbye to Borderlands. 😕
