The Summer Hiatus Is Finally Over?

I’m Like. Bear In Reverse! LOL

Unfortunately my model making activities are very limited these days by my health issues, puppy sitting obligations and - during the summer - my wife being on her school break so we spend most of the time together… So very little (and mostly nothing) get’s done hobby wise from June to September!

But now it’s September - and Sharon is back at school - I can now venture up to the attic man-cave and dust off the half completed hobby projects that were abandoned last May!

That’s the way this are - and will be - for the foreseeable future I’m afraid.

Where Did I Leave Off? What A Mess!!!

After a summer of refilling (yet again) my attic room full of spare junk we had no other space for I am back to having to clear off all the work tops and floor of piles of crap. Everything also needs a good dusting after month’s of neglect.

One of the first small projects I want to get started is building my Airfix 1/72 classic Sopwith Pup model. I have clear some space on my main model making bench to do this BUT as I want to spray paint/airbrush the paint scheme I need to clean and repair my little spray booth.

This portable spray booth is big enough for the small/medium models that I do, but being packable - with folding sides - it was with time broken and the sides have fallen off. So, I need to clean everything up, change the filter and repair the broken parts…

I decided to permanently glue the ‘side wings’ of the booth back on (I have never really used the portable/folding feature of this booth) so that they are less bother.

NEXT: I am slowly clearing out the man-cave a box of junk at a time and working round the room a desk or a cupboard at a time. Sharon has very kindly incentivised my progress by promising me that if I get the room cleared up that she will pay for a joiner to come in and build me some proper custom work benches!!! Game on!
